Congratulations to Julia Pierson. President Barack Obama named her as the Secret Service Chief. Julia is the first female Director of the agency.
According to salary.com today, Thursday, is one of the more productive days of the week. According to the survey the best time to accomplish something at work is Tuesdays between 9 and 11 am. I bet you can never guess the least productive time!! It’s not shocker, Fridays from 3 – 5 pm are the times we get the least amount of work done on the JOB. I would open that window up to 12 noon til 5 pm on Friday! After lunch it’s a wrap, we are just counting down to the weekend! Seriously, you know I’m telling the TRUTH!
Your chance to win a Virginia Lottery Fast Play Prize Pack happens today!! *Heads-up….make sure you are tuned in at 12 noon today* :)
Midday Motivation: If you see it in your mind you will hold it in your hand. Do you realize what that means? That means that your future, beginning today, will NOT unfold based on your past or based upon the existing conditions of your life, but that it will unfold based entirely upon your thoughts and dreams, you beliefs and expectations. This is why all things are possible! All things come from thoughts, and your thoughts are determined by you. YOU CAN’T HAVE A POSITIVE LIFE WITH A NEGATIVE MIND!
Talk of the Town Facebook Conversation: Do you think convicted felons deserve a second chance? Right here in Virginia a group of civil rights organizations are pushing the Governor to provide an easier path to voting rights for ex-felons who have served their time. This new legislation would require voting rights to be restored automatically instead of having to fight through years of red tape and mounds of paperwork! Virginia is one of three other states, a felony conviction means the automatic loss of many civil rights – voting being one of those rights. On the same note..should there be laws that prevent employers from discriminating against someone who has been convicted of a felony. Everyone makes mistakes, people change, people grow! Should we as community members forgive, and allow ex-felons the same rights as others? Keep in mind, the way to prevent a ex-felon re-entering the system is to push rehabilitation, self sufficiency, job training and a fair chance at life! Sound off on facebook..Do you think ex-felons should regain their rights to vote? Do you feel their conviction should be a reason to discriminate when they are seeking employment?
Coffee Talk: If you are lucky enough to receive an invitation to Michael Jordan’s upcoming April wedding you will be required to sign a “SILENCE CLAUSE” in order to attend. Isn’t that the what’s signed before the bachelor party? :) No cameras, no talk of what happens at his wedding! Strange right?
Everything that glitters isn’t gold! Reality housewife and self proclaimed “Black trophy wife” Porsha Stewart was hit with devastation when she read online that her husband, Kordell Stewart, filed for divorce. (READ ONLINE??? Blank stare) The couple were the talk of the season because co-stars felt Kordell was too controlling and that Porsha was too submissive. What do you think of the whole trophy wife concept? Did Porsha set herself up to be dumped online? On-line…I’m still stuck on that!!! Share your thoughts…
Technology News: Smartphones are truly living up to their name. Did you ever think there would come a time when your phone could possibly save your life! Email, facebook, instagram are all great apps but it won’t measure up to a new app a Switzerland company is working on. Imagine your cell phone being a blood monitor. Yeap, you read that right…What if an implant in your phone could detect a change in your blood – cholesterol, protein or sugar levels off – it would notify your smartphone and your doctor. Technology is something. I guess that will force us to take our health serious, since we are all glued to our smartphones 99% of the time. Crazy stuff.
Priorities..What’s yours? Here’s how important the Internet has become in our lives; In a new survey, people were FAR more likely to immediately fix a broken Internet connection than a LEAK in their home! WOW! I don’t think I that addicted but then again…Really, who am I kidding!
